Topic: Students of all disciplines can benefit significantly from inovelemtn int he arts and in particular, theatre and drama.

Based on a research back in the year 2013, the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Education and Social Work and the Australian Council for the Arts conducted a study showing that the involvement in the arts has brought sky rocketing benefits for young people (Journal of Educational Psychology, 2013). “The study shows that school participation in the arts can have positive effects on diverse aspects of students’ lives.” (Professor Andrew Martin, 2013). By getting students involved in arts, especially theatre and drama, they are given the opportunity to be on stage and stand in front of a live audience. By doing so, these students grow with confidence and are not afraid to project their voice beyond the walls of the room, this is important as it is a core skill in the working life when you are expected to present your work or reports to the higher management. Dr Sudmalis however, added that not only does the study demonstrate that the arts delivery positive outcomes that also motivates the students. But it also shows participatory and high quality education in arts which brings about a great impact not only academically but also the growth of the student which will help in his or her life in the working world.
